Robert G. Mahorter is a senior consultant at Navmar Applied Sciences Corporation. Navmar offers analytical, engineering, science and state-of-the-art technology services to address the needs of government. Mr. Mahorter graduated from MIT and went on to attain certification in Nuclear Science & Technology and a Masters from Drexel University. He has been on the advisory team to Naval Air Warfare Center and was a member of the Navy Management Review group.
Dr Sushil Gupta is a nationally-prominent vascular surgeon with over twenty years of clinical, research and teaching experience. He served on the faculties of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York from 1979-1991 (attaining the rank of full Professor of Surgery in 1990) and the Harvard Medical School in Boston from 1991-1998, and has been on the faculty of the State University of New York since 1998. He has published over 100 scientific publication in peer-reviewed journals and over 75 book chapters and monographs, and is the recipient of numerous grants for laboratory and clinical research. He is on the editorial boards of Vascular Surgery and the Annals of Vascular Surgery and the review boards of Circulation and the Journal of Vascular Surgery. As a researcher, he has participated in clinical trials of numerous medical products, including Plavix, Pletal and Regranex.
In addition to his clinical and research activities, Dr Gupta has extensive experience at the crossroads of industry and science. In 1983, he co-founded and provided the initial capital investment for DataEase International, Inc., a publisher of relational database software initially intended for hospitals and physicians. Until 1991, when it was acquired by the Symantec Corporation, Dr Gupta served on the corporation's Board of Directors as it grew to achieve over $40 Million in worldwide revenues and customers spanning every industry. He has also served as Scientific Consultant to Vision-Sciences, Inc., a publicly-traded manufacturer of endoscopy products, since its founding in 1990. Most recently, Dr Gupta served as Acting CEO of NeuHealth, a project of Neuvis, Inc. (since acquired by IBM's Rational Software division). At NeuHealth, he spearheaded the development of software to allow hospitals and other health care data users to securely transmit medical data on the Internet in compliance with the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). In addition, he has personally developed database applications for recording research data in the fields of transplant surgery, cardiac surgery, and vascular surgery.
